Foster Carols provides aspiring young vocalists from Tennessee's foster care system an opportunity to perform at a one-of-a-kind concert event.

Reminiscent of The Voice, vocalists are coached by accomplished artists, including Maggie Renfroe, Leah Sykes, Janet Jarriel, and other guest coaches. Megan Alexander, correspondent for Inside Edition, will serve as emcee.

Megan alexander, EMCEE

Megan Alexander, correspondent for Inside Edition, will be the emcee for the evening.

Megan Alexander is a national news correspondent, author, speaker and actress. She can be seen every evening as a correspondent on the longest-running, top rated syndicated national news magazine television show Inside Edition.

Maggie Renfroe, Coach

Maggie Renfroe is a singer-songwriter from Macon, Georgia. With a soulful sound and a modern twist, she’s a free spirit with an authentic connection to her audience.

Interested in singing and guitar playing from the age of 7, Maggie is making her dream of a music career a reality. Performing throughout the Southeast, Maggie has had the pleasure of opening for Jason Aldean, Scotty McCreery, Randell Bramlett, Bear Rinehart from Need to Breathe, and David Cook. Maggie is currently working on new songs and enjoys performing around Nashville.

Leah Sykes, Coach

Leah Sykes has been performing and writing music for 10 years. In 2013, Leah was crowned Miss America’s Outstanding Teen. During her year of service, she toured the nation performing, as well as lending a hand to organizations such as Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, The Ronald McDonald House, The U.S. Dream Academy, and more.

Leah also served as the National Spokesperson for the “Girls Know How” book series. A former worship leader, Leah believes music can be a source of healing and inspiration as well as a unifying force. Leah is currently living in Nashville, writing and performing pop music. 

 

Janet Jarriel, Coach

Janet Jarriel founded JEJ Artists, an exclusive talent agency for performing artists, in 1996. With a diverse background in performance and administration, Janet serves a select roster of artists with international reputations and credits including Metropolitan Opera soprano Angela M. Brown, internationally-acclaimed organist Diane Bish, revered choral conductor and organist Stephen Cleobury, and other noted musicians.

Janet has produced and assisted with a large number of music television programs and served on the staff of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, widely considered to be one of the top schools of music in the world. She has also consulted for performing arts schools and organizations in the United States and is proud to have been a part of the formative years of the Townsend School of Music and the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University. Most recently, she consulted for Celebrating Grace, a sacred music publishing company with worship arts resources for ecumenical churches, children’s choirs, and sacred musicians.

Steve Ivey, producer

Steve Ivey is an entrepreneur, musician, producer, manager, author, speaker, music writer, 17 time # 1 Billboard with multi Emmy, Grammy, Dove, Tele winning awards. Steve's music has been in the the Billboard Top Ten sales charts for an astounding 1000 weeks, over 15 million units sold as of  2018 and still counting with music he has produced and written.

Steve began his entrepreneur journey with incorporating his first company, IMI (Ivey Music International) at age 20 where he still writes music, records, and distributes music and video. IMI has grown to have a global reach with music in over 20,000 retail outlets, a management division, publishing company, and recording studio.

His studio work and recording lead him in to producing and working with numerous companies such as Sony, Warner Brothers, Provident, EMI, Curb, NBC, ABC, CBS, Dollar General, Walmart, and The Weather Channel among others. Top artists he has produced music and recorded with include Dolly Parton, Aaron Neville, Willie Nelson, Vince Gill, Blackhawk, Billy Dean, UrbanNation, Wild Animal Baby, The Care Bears, The Hello Strangers, Duck Dynasty's Mountain Man, Alexa, BeDoTell, Slidawg, The Oak Ridge Boys, Thomas Kincade, Mark Wills, Special Olympics, UrbanNation, Make A Wish Foundation, Operation Christmas Child, The Great Plains Opry, The Salvation Army, Blessing Offor, Betty Cantrell and numerous others.
