Our Purpose
At TAK, we are excited to share our new look and renewed mission with you! As we grow, we’re committed to staying true to our purpose—meeting needs, inspiring hope.
Our Why Remains the Same
Since our founding, TAK has focused on meeting the tangible needs of foster children and families. With this rebrand, we’ve refreshed our appearance, but our core purpose hasn’t changed. We’re still committed to meeting needs until every need is met for Tennessee's children!
Honoring our Journey
Former Branding
The original brand of Tennessee Alliance for Kids was about supporting the State of TN in getting tangible resources to kids in need. The logo and look represented our origin and dedication to making a positive impact.
New Branding
Our updated brand builds upon the origin to further represent the heart of TAK. This new branding reflects TAK's reliability, warmth, collaboration, and hope. Our new mission statement shares not only who we serve, but WHY we exist.
Our Name
We are still Tennessee Alliance for Kids, but will primarily go by our nickname, TAK. You will often see TAK or TAK | Tennessee Alliance for Kids in our communications.
Our Commitment to You
None of this would be possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers, partners, and community. This rebrand is just one step in our journey to better serve children, youth, and families impacted by foster care in TN.
Together, we’ll continue to meet needs and inspire hope.
Thank you for being part of this exciting new chapter with us!
Our Mission
TAK meets essential needs to comfort children, empower youth, and offer hope to families impacted by foster care in Tennessee.
Former Mission:
Tennessee Alliance for Kids (TAK) engages the community to meet emergent needs of children entering foster care, those at-risk of entering care, and youth aging out.
Our Vision
Until Every Need is Met for Tennessee's Children
Our Core Values
Kids First.
Those we serve through TAK and in our own homes

Reliability.
Following through to meet emergent needs quickly
The Problem We're Solving
The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS) cannot solicit donations as a government agency and out of a need for tangible support, Tennessee Alliance for Kids was established in 2016. TAK serves the Davidson County DCS, Mid-Cumberland DCS, South Central DCS, Office of Independent Living, Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes and CASA Nashville.
When social workers identify the critical needs of children, TAK meets those needs through items we call FosterLove.
Get Involved
Whether you want to donate financially, make a TAK PAK, or volunteer at a Community Event, we invite you to join us...until every need is met!
